Configuring your terminal display

Each time you expand a highlighted command, you are presented with a terminal that displays the command details. You can customize how the terminal looks and the level of detail the terminal displays.

If you have not yet encountered a terminal display, you can access one on the Insights page when you create or view a report. For more information, see Creating a report.

  1. At the bottom right corner of the terminal display, click .
  2. In the following Terminal settings dialog, choose one of the Command template options:

    The preview automatically updates to show your changes.

    • Simple — sets the terminal display to show the current working directory and the command:

      %cwd% $ %cmd%

    • Detailed — sets the terminal display to show the date, time, current working directory, the command and the executed command:

      %%date% %time%% %cwd% $ %cmd% (%exec% %params%)

  3. If the selected template option doesn't provide the right level of detail, you can change the display properties.
    • Click on the right to clear the display properties.
    • Click Add property then choose the required display properties. You can add as many as required.
    • You can manually enter or delete properties in the text field.
  4. From the Color scheme drop down list, select any of the available options to change the visual theme of the terminal.

    The High Contrast option is used in the examples.

  5. From the Command line colors drop down list, select any of the following:
    • Plain — the commands in the terminal are all displayed in one color.
    • Colored — the commands in the terminal are color coded. The colors used is dependent on the selected color scheme.

      The Colored option is used in the examples.

  6. Click Save to apply your changes.
